The most common causes are a blown thermal fuse, a failed heating element (electric dryers), or a faulty igniter (gas dryers). A clogged dryer vent can also cause the thermal fuse to blow repeatedly. We'll diagnose the root cause and fix it right.

A clogged lint trap or vent is the #1 culprit — restricted airflow means the dryer can't exhaust moisture efficiently. Other causes include a weak heating element, a failing moisture sensor, or an overloaded drum. Have your vent cleaned and inspected annually.

Squealing usually means worn drum rollers, a failing idler pulley, or a worn drive belt. Thumping can be a damaged drum seal or worn support rollers. These are common wear parts we stock and can often replace same day.

Overheating is the most common cause — usually from a blocked vent or lint trap. The thermal fuse or thermostats cut power to protect the machine. Once the root cause is fixed, the dryer runs full cycles normally again.

Dryers have fewer moving parts than washers and are often very cost-effective to repair. If your dryer is under 10 years old, repair almost always makes financial sense. We'll give you a straight answer once we diagnose the issue.
